Clown

Fargo, North Dakota, USA • 1972 - 1975

Clown was a heavy rock wrecking ball out of Fargo, North Dakota, that left its mark on the Midwest from 1972 to 1975. Led by the untamed force of nature known as Billy Gramer—better known as Alexis T Angel (later of the band Ozz)—the band didn’t just play gigs; they unleashed them. With Gramer’s fearless vocals and a stage presence that defied restraint, Clown was a band that demanded your attention!

The group toured the Midwest relentlessly, earning a reputation for shows that were wild, unpredictable, and unforgettable. Gramer and his bandmates lived and breathed rock and roll, pouring every ounce of sweat and soul into their performances. Each night was a full-throttle ride through heavy riffs, pounding rhythms, and raw passion.

Their legacy, though short-lived, lives on within the sound captured on their ultra rare private-press single—a snapshot of a band burning with intensity and intent.
