Stuttgart, Germany • 1968-1974 (reunited in the ‘80s)

DOM was a heavy psychedelic rock trio formed in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1968 by brothers Eberhard and Wolfgang Häger, alongside their friend Werner Wolf. The band rehearsed and lived together in a creative haven they called the Bibulus, a space that became legendary among friends for its lively gatherings fueled by music and plenty of beer, wine, and whiskey. Before DOM, the brothers played together in local bands Orange Squash and Brigade – but the addition of Werner solidified DOM's lineup, and would carry them through until 1974.

During their run, DOM played around 90 shows, sharing stages with acts like Guru Guru and Nektar. Their sole release, the 1972 single “DOM” b/w “Devil’s Grandma,” is now considered a krautrock gem, highly sought after by collectors. The handmade cover art features the tower of a Protestant church in Schwieberdingen superimposed with a photo of Eberhard and his grandmother, adding a quirky, personal touch to the record.

Though DOM disbanded in 1974, their music endures as a prime example of the experimental spirit that defined the era. Their rare single captures the raw energy and creativity of Germany’s early ’70s psychedelic rock underground.
